We are having a great time trying out activities with iPads in the General Education Classrooms. This site will be where we share pictures and activities that we are trying out.
We have used Kid Doodle to practice spelling words, Chino Penguin for sight word practice and Dropbox/iBooks with Reading Street Decodables that students read with support for unknown words from the iPad.
We have used Educreations for students to compare fractions and Chatterkid to create word problems.
We have used QR codes to study vocabulary words, Doodle Buddy to work on perimeter & Number Pieces to work out division problems...
We even had some fun during lunch recess using the Lego Movie Maker app for some stop motion fun!
This is the first step in a multi-step project. First the students are given a total number and how many kids they have to share with equally. They need to use the base ten pieces to work out the problem and add the equation. They then take a screen shot of their work. The next step will be uploading the pictures into educreations where they will make an audio recording/video of explaining their thinking.
